Panthers Overcome Great Performance by Nicholas in Win
The Tioga Central Tigers got a superb performance from second baseman Vic Nicholas. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Derby. The Panthers won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Nicholas was named the player of the game. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Derby is 5th in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division with a record of 15-15.

An impactful at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Ryan Farmer, hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 6-5, Derby, and helped them go on to win.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Derby manager Daniel Hills.
