Fans who came to Guadalajara HS Grounds watched the Lerna Lions and the Billings West Golden Bears fight to the finish.

The Lerna Lions beat the Billings West Golden Bears, 6-5 at Guadalajara HS Grounds, in part due to designated hitter Roger Groninger, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The third-place Lions now have a win-loss record of 15-15.

Greg Makowski had an important at-bat with one out in the top of the second, when he hit a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season put Lerna on top, 3-2.

In postgame comments, Makowski told the Lerna News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
