The Tokyo Yakult Swallows bested the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, 6-3, at Rebels Ballpark. Jerry Lemons was named player of the game. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. With the win, Tokyo Yakult has a record of 25-19. Hiroshima Toyo falls to 19-25.
Gyou Kawahara, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a changeup from Yoshikazu Fukuda for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put Tokyo Yakult in front, 4-2.
