Tokyo Yakult right fielder Jerry Lemons had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Hiroshima Toyo at Rebels Ballpark. Lemons went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Getting the save was Jim Unknown, his 1st. The Carp sit in 4th place in the Central Division with a record of 18-24.
Also pitching in for Hiroshima Toyo was designated hitter Senta Nakano, who hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, Nakano was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Tokyo Yakult manager Rob Lewis. "But we decided not to take it."
