Eureka first baseman Don Buller had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Buller was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times, even as Georgia beat the Hornets, 5-2. Buller was named the player of the game despite the loss. Damon Willis picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Barend Bilderbeek was tagged with the loss. Georgia now owns a record of 31-51.
Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Salvador Ramos's at-bat in the top of the eighth was crucial. With two out, the Georgia first baseman hit a run-scoring single, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Ramos told the Georgia Chronicle.
