It was a fun time at Field of the Chariots, where the Chiba Lotte Marines and Saitama Seibu Lions tangled.
The Saitama Seibu Lions had no problem beating the Chiba Lotte Marines, 11-1, at Field of the Chariots. Akiharu Kochi led the way. He went 2-2 with a triple and 3 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for Saitama Seibu. The winner was Gohta Yokota, who threw 84 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 1 hit. Wei-kang Zhang closed it out for his 1st save.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Field of the Chariots crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
Chiba Lotte manager Motoyuki Hayashi called the blowout loss "ugly."
Saitama Seibu is in third place in the Pacific Division with a record of 21-21.
