Lions Fall to .500 After Loss to Buffaloes
The ORIX Buffaloes picked up a win at Sea Hawks Stadium, knocking off the Saitama Seibu Lions, 5-4. Starting pitcher Takuzo Okuyama, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The win was Hayami Iwamoto's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Kenjiro Masukawa took the loss for Saitama Seibu. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for ORIX.

Tadashi Fujita provided some late-game drama. In the bottom of the eighth, with two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Fujita hit a run-scoring single. It helped ORIX take the lead and grab the win.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said ORIX manager Steve Richards.
