Big Day for Koo as Dragons Down Bay Stars, 6-3
|
Kol-in-sen Koo helped his team muscle past the Yokohama Bay Stars, 6-3. In the game, the Chunichi designated hitter was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Chunichi reliever Shichinosuke Mizuno was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Yoshiyuki Matsuda took the loss. Jim Unknown locked down his 1st save.
In the top of the third, Danny Dunlap took a changeup from Yoshiyuki Matsuda and pounded a 3-run home run to right. It put Chunichi on top, 5-2. For the game, Dunlap was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
"It feels good to get this one," Dunlap told the Chunichi Times.
The Dragons improve their record to 23-16 with the win over Yokohama.
