Buffaloes Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Tohoku Rakuten
ORIX and Tohoku Rakuten duked it out at Sea Hawks Stadium and the Buffaloes came out victorious.

Tohoku Rakuten center fielder James Briggs was sensational. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. ORIX beat the Golden Eagles, 6-3. Briggs was named the player of the game despite the loss. ORIX reliever Phuc Ng got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Zenzo Yokoyama was tagged with the loss. Jim Unknown got credit for the save for ORIX. It was his 1st of the year.

With ORIX trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Buffaloes fortunes got a boost when first baseman Keita Sato turned a 1-1 fastball from Zenzo Yokoyama into his 10th home run of the season. The hit scored 3 and put ORIX up, 3-1.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sato told a ORIX Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

The Buffaloes go to 16-21, putting them 5th in the Pacific Division.
