Lions Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Hawks
Tien Tran-Dinh pitched well, but the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks still lost the game, falling 3-1 to the Saitama Seibu Lions at Field of the Chariots. Saitama Seibu reliever Wei-kang Zhang got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Tien Tran-Dinh was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Lions at 18-18, while the Hawks drop to 18-18.

The Lions got a big at-bat from second baseman Hisornori Tanaka. For the game, Tanaka went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Saitama Seibu a 2-0 lead.
