Bay Stars Edge Yomiuri in Pitching Duel
|
Yokohama Bay Stars starter Keinosuke Misawa turned in a sterling performance against the Yomiuri Giants, leading his team to a slim 1-0 win. Picking up the save was Masamitsu Sato, his 4th. With the win over Yomiuri, the Bay Stars improved to 12-17.
The Bay Stars beat the Giants with some clutch hitting. The double by Harukazu Ogawa in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Ogawa gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Misawa.
