Yukimoto Helps Tohoku Rakuten Cruise to 13-1 Win
Tohoku Rakuten and Fukuoka SoftBank put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles handed the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks a sound defeat, 13-1, at Ballpark of Aomori College. Ryohei Yukimoto was a main contributor to the win. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for Tohoku Rakuten. Chotaro Matsuno got the win, improving to 4-2. He held the Hawks to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Yukiyoshi Gushiken picked up the save for Tohoku Rakuten, his 1st of the year.

James Briggs dealt the Hawks a blow in the top of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Tohoku Rakuten leading 1-0, Briggs, who is tied for 4th in the PL in stolen bases with 5, hit a 1-2 changeup for a 2-run double.

"We had that killer instinct," Yukimoto said after the game.
