Lions Fall to .500 After Loss to Marines
|
Pitcher Kiyoharu Marion was sensational for the Chiba Lotte Marines in his team's 6-0 triumph over the Saitama Seibu Lions. Marion received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The save was credited to Akiro Suzuki, his 2nd. Chiba Lotte is now 12-16.
The Chiba Lotte triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Cheong-u Pak. In the bottom of the fifth, the Chiba Lotte second baseman hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"Kiyoharu did a tremendous job," said Chiba Lotte manager Motoyuki Hayashi.
