Pioneers Sneak Past Sasquatch, 3-2
|
The Vancouver Pioneers wiggled past the Seattle Sasquatch, 3-2, at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. Vancouver pitcher Marcus Clifton earned player of the game honors. Vancouver, now 45-35, holds third place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
Late in the game, left fielder Hiroya Shimada had a big at-bat for Vancouver. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off George Fortin. The play gave the Pioneers a 3-2 lead.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Clifton said.
