The South Carolina Bombers had to overcome a big game from Portland shortstop Juan Jaramillo to leave Bomber Ballpark with a 5-4 victory. Jaramillo went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Christian Wallace earned the save for South Carolina, his 3rd of the year. South Carolina has 3 straight wins, Portland 3 straight losses.
South Carolina took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, first baseman Wang Tong hit a 3-run home run that electrified the crowd.
"I was a little disappointed," said Portland manager Ryan Blandford. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
