Chiba Lotte starter Yoon-tae Pack pitched effectively against the ORIX Buffaloes at Sea Hawks Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. The winning pitcher was Pack, now 1-1. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Jim Unknown closed the door for Chiba Lotte, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Flexing his muscles for Chiba Lotte was Jeff Watts. The designated hitter had a 2-run home run in the top of the first for the Marines. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Watts went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
