Late Rally Gets Win for Giants
|
The inspired effort of Hanshin right fielder Kiyonori Ogura was not enough to prevent a 4-3 loss to the Yomiuri Giants. Ogura was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Yomiuri reliever Goro Tanaka was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Jason Hampton took the loss. Kenshin Kawamoto finished the game for Yomiuri and earned his 5th save.
One of the key players for the Giants was catcher Sok-man Lee, who drilled a 2-run single in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, Lee went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I like what I saw today," said Yomiuri manager Masato Ojima, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The losing streak for Hanshin has now reached 4 games.
