Victory Over Carp Takes Tokyo Yakult to 10-4
|
Jerry Lemons left his imprint on the 6-3 Tokyo Yakult win against the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. Lemons, who is tied for 7th in the CL in extra base hits with 8, went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jim Unknown recorded his 1st save for Tokyo Yakult. The Swallows have an impressive 10-4 record.
Shi-ping Xú, who is tied for 8th in the CL in stolen bases with 1, helped out the Tokyo Yakult cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"We've got a great group of guys," Lemons said, "and we're having fun right now."
