Earthquakes Stick Texans with 4-3 Loss
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Dallas Texans at Golden Gate Park. Nobody did more than pitcher António Medrano, who captured player of the game honors. Medrano got the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Medrano allowed 2 earned runs. San Francisco's record now stands at 31-49, placing them last in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
The Earthquakes used some clutch hitting to beat the Texans, a good example being the at-bat of Juan López in the bottom of the third. With two down, López gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Medrano.
