Swallows Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
With third baseman Pete Farthing leading the charge, the Tokyo Yakult Swallows defeated the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, 7-4, at Rebels Ballpark. Farthing was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tsutomu Holliday, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Matt Stevenson got credit for the save for Tokyo Yakult. It was his 3rd of the year.

Tokyo Yakult grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Farthing hit a run-scoring single. His 14th hit of the season put the Swallows out in front, 3-2.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Farthing. "More importantly, I had a good game."

The Carp fall to 5-7 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2032 season.
