Hiroshima Toyo played host to Yokohama at the friendly confines of Frogs Ballpark.

Yokohama had no answer for Hiroshima Toyo Carp starter Yoichibei Omura, who flummoxed Bay Stars hitters as the Carp cruised to a 6-0 victory. The Carp are off to a tough start, getting just their 3rd win in 8 games.

Yozaburo Oba wielded some clout for Hiroshima Toyo. The shortstop had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third for the Carp. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Oba was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Omura.
