Kato Helps Fighters Beat Marines
In a close game at Ballpark of Nasu College, the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters edged the Chiba Lotte Marines, 5-4. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham left fielder Takahiro Kato earned the nod as player of the game. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Isao Yonemura closed the door for Hokkaido Nippon-Ham, picking up his 1st save of the year. The win moves Hokkaido Nippon-Ham to a record of 4-2.

Koji Tanaka made it 5-3 in favor of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham when he delivered a 2-run home run. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Fighters went on to win.
