The Saitama Seibu Lions started the 2032 season win an impressive 6-0 win against the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters at Field of the Chariots. Ryan Desmond, who is rated as the 36th best prospect by BNN, was named player of the game. Josh Burns closed it out for his 1st save.

Jason Gates had a big 2-run home run for the Lions in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Saitama Seibu leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from Yusuke Yamasaki and stroked the home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lions ahead, 3-0.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Saitama Seibu manager Jon Crowe. "Our pregame was pretty good."
