Ramos, Mustangs Hammer Indians
|
The San Marin Mustangs met little resistance from the Jefferson Indians, beating them 11-2 at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. Freddy Ramos led the way. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for San Marin. Jason Tallent, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Jefferson to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 9 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. At 14-12, the Mustangs are currently second in the Hank Aaron League Willie Mays Division.
Ramos had a key at-bat for San Marin early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season and gave San Marin an early 2-0 lead.
Jefferson manager Dan Miller called the blowout loss "a real dud."
