The Jacksonville State Jaguars and Central Tech Blues were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Oranges Ballpark.
Central Tech starter John Rudge pitched effectively against the Jacksonville State Jaguars at Oranges Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. The save was credited to Ryan Schwanz, his 3rd.
The Blues got an important contribution from first baseman Moises Salazar, who in the bottom of the fifth knocked a first pitch forkball into left for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Blues ahead, 4-1.
Rudge expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
Central Tech goes to 8-18, Jacksonville State to 10-16.
