Francis Lewis rode a fine outing from starter Sam Berg to victory over the Montreal Cardinals at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. The final score was 4-1. Berg, now 2-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Tommy Burhoe earned the save for Francis Lewis, his 2nd of the year.
Francis Lewis second baseman Yasutomo Fujii gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Patriots leading 2-1, Fujii hit a 2-run double.
"Good win for us," said Fujii. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
