Panthers Solve Warhawks, 5-4
|
Pleasantville right-hander Bobby Morey pitched his team to victory over the Seminole Warhawks at Stealth Ballpark. The final score was 5-4. Robert Simeone got credit for the save for Pleasantville. It was his 5th of the year. Their 11-14 record puts the Panthers last in the Hank Aaron League Bob Gibson Division.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Panthers sent teenager Bret LaHodny to the plate against Warhawks hurler Antonio Villagrana. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-1 fastball to score 1.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," LaHodny told a Pleasantville Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
