Riverside Wins 6-2 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
The Riverside Poly picked up a win at Ballpark of Monterrey HS, knocking off the Jefferson Indians, 6-2. Starting pitcher Willard Gibson, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Mike Aldridge finished to wrap up his 3rd save. The Poly boast a remarkable 20-5 record.
Riverside grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, Andrew Withrow delivered a 2-run double, to make it 4-2 in favor of the Poly.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Gibson crowed after the game.
