Daniel Monaco did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Billings West Golden Bears from losing, 6-5, to the Canby Lancers at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS. Monaco went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The 4th-place Lancers have won 4 consecutive games.

Canby took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two out, designated hitter John Phillips hit a 2-run home run that aroused the crowd.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Phillips told the Canby Today.
