Mustangs Squelch Panthers Offense in Shutout Win
|
Getting an impressive start from Valentin Carrio, Downsview beat Derby by the score of 4-0. Bill Perales got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The Mustangs now have a record of 10-14 with the win over Derby.
One pivotal at-bat came in the top of the fourth with one out. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Panthers trailing 2-0, Valentin Carrio needed to make a quality pitch. He threw a 1-2 cutter to retire Aidan Martins, who struck out.
