Panthers Topple Indians, 10-4
|
A 3-RBI performance from Carlos Figueroa, who is tied for 10th in the HAL with a 1.136 OPS, helped the Pitman High Panthers beat the Jefferson Indians, 10-4. Nate Dupuy was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts. The save was credited to Danny Ventimiglia, his 6th.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the first inning. That's when designated hitter Garry Mailing drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Panthers went on to win.
"We played hard and won," said Figueroa. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Today's win puts Pitman High at 16-7, while Jefferson falls to 14-9.
