A nice crowd turned out to see the Canby Lancers and Downsview Mustangs clash at Visigoths Stadium.

Getting a good performance from designated hitter John Phillips, the Canby Lancers defeated the Downsview Mustangs, 9-6. Phillips was 1-2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Lancers. Andy Fitzpatrick was credited with the save for Canby, his 6th of the season.

Mike Johnson was one of the major contributors to the win for Canby. The light-hitting center fielder stroked a single to left in the top of the eighth inning. For the day, he was 1-2 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Phillips.

The losing streak for Downsview has now reached 4 games.
