A 4-RBI performance from designated hitter Luis Miramontes, who is rated as the 13th best prospect by BNN, led the Lerna Lions to a 12-4 win over the College Park. John Woods got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 6.1 innings. At 10-11, the Lions find themselves in second place in the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division.

When the Lions needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Miramontes who delivered. Facing College pitcher Harry Bidwell the top of the sixth with runners on 1st and 2nd, Miramontes hit his 4th home run of the year. It made the score 11-1.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Miramontes. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
