Panthers Squelch Vampires Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Pleasantville Panthers got a stellar effort from pitcher Mike Marleau, helping Pleasantville score a 3-0 win over the visiting Santa Clara Vampires. Robert Simeone closed the door for Pleasantville, picking up his 4th save of the year. With the win, Pleasantville goes to 10-11, while the Vampires fall to 8-13.
The Panthers got a big at-bat from first baseman Adam Fisher. For the game, Fisher was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Pleasantville a 2-0 lead.
"I just made my pitches," said Marleau, "and the ball kept missing the bat."
