Rhinos Deal Mustangs 6-3 Setback
|
The Rubber City Rhinos beat the Mile High Mustangs, 6-3, at The Rubber Grounds. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Aidan Turgoose, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Getting the save was Shinzo Sasaki, his 16th. With the win, Rubber City has a record of 44-33. Mile High falls to 41-36.
Mike Davis had a big run-scoring single for the Rhinos in the bottom of the third inning. With Rubber City trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Drstasara Sahni and stroked the single to center. It was his 81st hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rhinos ahead, 2-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Davis, "and today was a good one for us."
