Georgia got a terrific game from center fielder Yoshiki Yamamoto. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Portland, 6-4. Yamamoto was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Earning his 10th save of the year was Tim Stady Jr.. Portland is 5th in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division with a record of 35-44.
Garth Brooks delivered a big hit for the Beavers. The veteran right fielder belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. The longball put Portland on top, 4-4. Overall, Brooks was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Brooks.
