Grand Island Islanders starter Mark Daniel was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Derby Panthers, 6-3. With the win, the Islanders improved to 6-12.

Making an impact for Grand Island was first baseman David Otterstrom. He drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third. For the game, Otterstrom was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Mark is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Grand Island manager Doug Taylor.
