5-Hit Game for Lapham
Bill Lapham exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS.

The Canby left fielder had a field day in the 21-9 triumph over the Carl Albert Titans, finishing 5-for-5.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Lapham must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Bill Lapham hit a two-run home run off Aiden McMullen in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Aiden McMullen in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Steve Rankin in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Steve Rankin in the 5th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

In 18 games this season Lapham is batting .387 with 29 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 16 runs and driven in 21.
