Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Tenafly Tigers got the win.
Tenafly Tigers starter Tom Falck was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Kearny High Cardinals, 4-2. Falck went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. Jeremy Pharris earned the save, his 1st, for the Tigers.
In the bottom of the second, Ryan Dyer took a fastball from Lou Butt and pounded a 2-run home run to left. It put Tenafly on top, 2-0. For the game, Dyer went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Dyer said.
Tenafly is now riding a 3-game win streak.
