Indians Take Down Mustangs, 8-4
|
The Jefferson Indians topped the Downsview Mustangs, 8-4, in Hank Aaron League action at Visigoths Stadium. The player of the game was Jefferson pitcher and Bangor, Pennsylvania native Paul Giglio. In 8.1 innings, Giglio surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 4 runs. The Indians saw their win-loss record go to 11-6. At the same time, the Mustangs fell to 7-10.
Jefferson took the lead in the top of the third on a big hit from Nate Moran. On a first pitch fastball from Jeff Gregson, Moran hit a run-scoring single. That made it 1-0, Indians. For the day, Moran went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Giglio said.
