The inspired effort of Kearny High left fielder Jacob Proctor was not enough to prevent a 10-7 loss to the Jacksonville State Jaguars. Proctor went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Chuck Schmidt got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Jacksonville State has a 3-game win streak, while Kearny High has lost 3 in a row.
