Lancers Get Past Derby for 4-3 Win
The Canby Lancers topped the Derby Panthers, 4-3, in Pete Rose League action at Managua HS Grounds. The player of the game was Canby pitcher and West Memphis, Arkansas native Jim Casey. The winner was Canby reliever Matt Westerfield, now 1-0. The loser was Mitch Lundy. Canby is in third place in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division with a record of 7-7.

Bill Lapham's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a knuckle curve from Mitch Lundy for a run-scoring single. It put Canby in front, 4-3.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Casey.
