Tigers C Johnson gets 5 RBI in Win
|
The Tenafly Tigers topped the George Washington Patriots by the score of 9-4, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher Mike Johnson. Johnson went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Tigers. Tom Falck, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 8.1 innings. The Patriots, now 2-10, continue their poor start.
When the Tigers needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Johnson who delivered. Facing George Washington pitcher Ryan Mapel the bottom of the third with the bases loaded, Johnson hit his 1st home run of the year. It made the score 7-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Johnson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
