Islanders Clip Bombers in Tight Contest
The Hawaii Islanders picked up a win at Aloha Stadium, knocking off the South Carolina Bombers, 4-3. On the mound for Hawaii was left-hander Pat McConnell, who played a pivotal role in the win. Martin Blank picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Sotatsu Hayagawa was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Islanders record now stands at 42-33.

Hawaii took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, catcher Matt Clark hit a solo home run that amped up the crowd.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Hawaii manager Leland Ray.
