Miller Excels, But Cardinals Win
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Montreal Cardinals outlasted Peyton Miller and the Downsview Mustangs, 9-7. Miller was impressive in the loss. The Downsview center fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Joe Crouch was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. Steve Mauger picked up the save for Montreal, his 1st of the year.

One of the key players for the Cardinals was second baseman Jim Goudeau, who drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning. For the game, Goudeau hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice.

"This team is real focused right now," said Montreal manager Hector Corretjer.

The win gives Montreal a record of 8-1.
