Tristan Erdahl helped his team muscle past the Kearny High Cardinals, 6-4. In the game, the Riverside right fielder went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner was Chris Anderson, who threw 99 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits. Chris Phillips recorded his 2nd save for Riverside.
When the Poly needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Erdahl who delivered. Facing Kearny High pitcher Chris Day the bottom of the third with a runner on 1st, Erdahl hit his 4th home run of the year. It made the score 5-0.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Erdahl.
The Poly, now 6-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
