Titans Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Oranges Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Central Tech Blues and Carl Albert Titans.
In a tight game between the Carl Albert Titans and the Central Tech Blues, pitcher Forbes Raynor was terrific on the mound. The Carl Albert right-hander was named the player of the game in Carl Albert's 3-1 win. Tom Frenchik closed it out for his 2nd save.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the seventh inning when the Titans sent teenager Andy Khoury to the plate against Blues hurler Mike McGill. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 3-1 sinker to score 1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Khoury told the Carl Albert Gazette.
The Titans are off to a tough start, getting just their 3rd win in 8 games.
