Lancers Get 4-2 Win Versus Lerna
|
Getting an impressive start from David Owens, Canby beat Lerna by the score of 4-2. Andy Fitzpatrick earned his 2nd save in 2 tries. Canby has a record of 4-3.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the third inning when the Lancers sent teenager Brian Griffith to the plate against Lions hurler Roger Katz. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 2-2 fastball to score 1.
Griffith told a Canby Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
