Late Rally by Indians Secures Win
|
Aaron Hoffmann was the difference-maker for the Jefferson Indians in what turned into a shootout with the Jacksonville State Jaguars. Hoffmann earned the player of the game award after going 3-for-4 in the 11-9 Indians win. With the win, Jefferson pushes its record to 4-1.
Had Jonathan Grindstaff not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Grindstaff hit a 2-run single. That made the score 10-8, in favor of the Indians.
"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Grindstaff said.
