Patriots Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
The George Washington Patriots picked up a win at Osprey Ballpark, knocking off the Derby Panthers, 8-5. Starting pitcher Craig Mahoney was an essential part of his team's success. Ryan Hatch, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Patriots have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 4 games.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from first baseman Ralph Marshall. For the game, Marshall went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 3rd hit of the season gave George Washington a 5-3 lead.
"We'll build on this win," said Marshall.
